What Is the Typical Lead Time for Vacuum Insulated Piping Systems?

At HL Cryogenics our standard lead time for a complete vacuum insulated piping system is 25- 45 calendar days from the final technical drawing approval and receipt of the confirmed advance payment. Applicable to standard static vacuum insulated pipe, cryogenic pipe and basic cryogenic transfer systems. 60 to 75 days, custom or dynamic vacuum arrangements to preserve engineering and performance integrity.
We provide compliant solutions for industrial gas applications, LNG infrastructure and liquid nitrogen systems in Europe, Southeast Asia, East Asia and the Middle East. All processes conform to the ASME B31.3, EN13480, ISO and JB/T 12665-2016 cryogenic engineering standards.

We have a fixed technical schedule of 45 days to achieve vacuum stability and heat leak reduction. We do not compress critical phases such as welding, vacuum processing or pressure testing.
This cycle includes engineering design review, material preparation, precision fabrication, high-vacuum insulation treatment, full performance testing and export packaging. Each phase is reliably coupled with vacuum insulated flexible hose, vacuum insulated valve and vacuum insulated phase separator components.

Lead Time for Dynamic Vacuum & Special Components

Each stage in our production process directly impacts thermal performance, vacuum stability, and long‑term reliability. We never compress phases that affect safety or insulation quality.
Engineering & Design Review
We complete layout, diameter, design pressure, connection type and compatibility with vacuum insulated valve and vacuum insulated phase separator units. This locks the parameters to prevent re-work.
Material Procurement & Processing
Made from cryogenic-grade SS304/ SS316L with certified low-temperature toughness. Standard materials are in stock; custom alloys or special specifications add 7 to 10 days.
Fabrication and Welding
All pipe is welded, tested and fabricated to close dimensional tolerances. We do 100% NDT according to ASME B31.3 for structural safety under extreme thermal cycles.
High-Vacuum Insulation Processing
This is the most important step. We evacuate the annular space, activate getters and stabilise vacuum to minimise heat leak and assure long term performance.
Test & Verification
We perform pressure testing, helium leak detection and thermal performance verification. All systems, including VI cryogenic pipe, VI hose, any kind of valve, Phase Separator or Dynamic Vacuum Pump - are built to our internal and international standards before they are shipped.

Lead Time for Dynamic Vacuum & Special Components

cryogenic pipeline

By combining our Dynamic Vacuum Pump System, Vacuum Insulated Valve, and Phase Separator, we give you a setup that moves liquid helium efficiently and keeps costs down. Our Mini Tanks and Flexible Hoses let us handle both mobile and fixed jobs with precision.

Our Dynamic Vacuum Pump System installations take 30 to 60 days owing to additional calibration and functionality testing. The dynamic system ensures consistent performance under vacuum for highly reliable LNG and hydrogen applications.

For identical systems: vacuum insulated Flexible Hoses takes 30 to 40 days; Vacuum Insulated Valve and vacuum insulated Phase Separator take 35 to 60 days. Mini Tank skid-mounted equipment extends delivery periods to 60 to 80 days.

 Real‑World Engineering Example

Our industrial gas company from Europe ordered a 180-meter DN50 vacuum insulated pipeline system for their liquid nitrogen transport system. We manufactured, tested, and packed the pipeline system using regular SS304 material and connectors within the span of 43 days. This was in line with our normal delivery schedule. Our pipeline system was able to reach its intended vacuum specifications.

The lead time can vary depending on project requirements:

Material change to SS316L: +7-10 days

Special gases (hydrogen or helium): +7-10 days

Custom fittings and flanges: +10-15 days

Vacuum dynamic pump system: +15-20 days

We verify any changes to the lead times before confirming the order.

What is the minimum order quantity?

We are happy to accommodate orders of any size — from single units to large-scale projects.

What manufacturing standards does HL Cryogenics follow?

HL Cryogenics' Vacuum Insulated Pipe (VIP) is manufactured in accordance with the ASME B31.3 Pressure Piping Code as our standard.

What raw materials does HL Cryogenics use?

HL Cryogenics is a specialized vacuum equipment manufacturer, sourcing all raw materials exclusively from qualified suppliers. We can procure materials that meet specific standards and requirements as requested by customers. Our typical material selection includes ASTM/ASME 300 Series Stainless Steel with surface treatments such as acid pickling, mechanical polishing, bright annealing, and electro polishing.

What are the specifications for Vacuum Insulated Pipe?

The size and design pressure of the inner pipe are determined according to the customer's requirements. The size of the outer pipe follows HL Cryogenics' standard specifications, unless otherwise specified by the customer.

What are the advantages of the Static VI Piping and VI Flexible Hose System?

Compared with conventional piping insulation, the static vacuum system provides superior thermal insulation, reducing gasification losses for customers. It is also more cost-effective than a dynamic VI system, lowering the initial investment required for projects.
